Youth

The purpose of JCY is to PULL IN the lost, JOIN together, TEACH God's truth, SERVE one another & HONOUR Him in all we do! That is a mouthful, but basically we want to be a youth group that is relevant to the times & to the teenagers in our area. We want to disciple our teenagers in a way that they can grow in Christ & get to a place where they can disciple others.

We have two meetings a week- our main youth meeting is on Friday night at 6pm & usually hang around until 10pm. What happens in these services- well, we can't tell you, caus adults might read this! But what happens in our service- we hope- always brings glory to Jesus & puts Him first. We believe in having fun meetings, because God is a fun Dad. Oh... & occassionally we break things...   Our second meeting is our cell meeting on Wednesday nights at 5.30pm at someone's house- we talk about Jesus, drink coffee, eat cookies & try not to think about school! If you'd like to join us at any of our services, you are more than welcome to call me, Sheldon, at 082 920 8573.

Other annual events include: A yearly missions trip- last year we roughed it at the beach! We also have an annual fund raiser- where we take a quick brisk walk for 33 kilometers & hopefully get paid per kilometer! This is usually more fun than it sounds! Every holiday we set up holiday programs which include volleyball, tennis, movies, board games, fun stuff!

One of our biggest projects is the building of our Youth Centre. As a youth group, we want to be obedient to God's voice in building a youth centre which is bigger than our current building, bigger than our dreams & also quite daunting! We are building by faith & believe, just as Wellspring built their church debt-free, God wants us to do the same. If you have been disobedient to God's voice, telling you to give to our building fund, we would like to encourage you to be obedient & give! We won't hold your disobedience against you & will also not tell the tax man about your hidden millions! :)

Let the one who serves serve in the strength which God supplies that in everything God may get the glory through Jesus Christ.
