Statement of Faith

As a Body, we believe:

  • that the scriptures of the Old & New Testaments, in their original writings, are fully inspired of God, and we accept them as the final authority for faith & life.
  • in one God eternally existing in three persons- Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
  • that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, & is true God & true man.
  • that God created man in His own image, that man sinned & thereby incurred the penalty of death, physical & spiritual; and that all human beings inherit a sinful nature, which results (in the case of those who have reached moral responsibility) in actual transgression involving personal guilt.
  • that the Lord Jesus died for our sins, a substitutionary sacrifice according to the scriptures, & that all who believe & receive Jesus Christ as Saviour & Lord are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.
  • in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven & His present life as our High Priest & Advocate.
  • in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • in the personality of the Holy Spirit, His regenerating work, abiding presence in the true believer, the baptism of the Holy Spirit & that all nine gifts of the Holy Spirit should be in operation in today's church.
  • that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith, are born again of the Spirit & thereby become children of God.
  • that all Christians are called to a life of holiness, devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ & service to Him.
  • in the resurrection both of the just & the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed & the eternal condemnation of those who have rejected the offer of salvation.
  • that the one true Church is the whole company of those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, been redeemed by Him & regenerated by the Holy Spirit, that the local Church on earth should take its character from this conception of the Church spiritual, & therefore that the new birth & personal confession of Christ are essentials of Church membership.
  • in the priesthood of all believers.
  • that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances- Baptism & the Lord's Supper; to be observed as acts of obedience & as a perpetual witness to the cardinal facts of the Christian faith.
  • that Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water as a confession of identification with Christ in burial & resurrection.
  • that the Lord's Supper is the partaking of the bread & the cup, as symbolical of the Saviour's body & shed blood, in remembrance of His sacrificial death until His return.
  • that God ordained that man & woman should live together in a monogamous, heterosexual relationship bound together within the confines of lawful marriage by vows made in the sight of God & man.

Let the one who serves serve in the strength which God supplies that in everything God may get the glory through Jesus Christ.
