Child & Youth care centre

Uzwelo provides for the special needs of traumatised children, HIV/AIDs children & orphans. Behavioural growth & progress of children is closely monitored & according to their needs, a care plan is designed which is implemented by all role players. Currently there are 46 children, between the ages of 3 and 17, at Uzwelo Home. Our children are in the care of 7 Child Care Youth Workers, who capably fulfill the role of "Mamas", role models & care givers.

Another of our focuses is to reunite families, where possible. Annual meetings with parents, social workers & significant others plan the children's future & intervene therapeutically if it is needed. Much attention is given in finding suitable holiday parents or enabling the biological parents to provide a normal home for children for a holiday period.

Uzwelo plans regular outreach programmes to other less fortunate children in the community. Our children play an important role in this programme- "for the children, by the children."

The cost of running this Home is partially sibsidised by the Department of Social Development and so we rely heavily upon your donations. Thank you for your interest in Uzwelo Home & our special children. We trust that we can rely on your prayers & continued support.

Uzwelo is registered as: NPO: 017-627, PBO (Section 18a): 18/11/13/2458, A Children's Home with the Department of Social Development of South Africa.
